Snowshoeing at Wyalusing State Park

My parents live about 15 minutes from Wyalusing State Park. It's a very pretty park in southwest Wisconsin bordered by the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers. John and I went snowshoeing two days in a row. We had to snowshoe through ~18 inches of fresh powder. The first day we went to Picture Rock Cave. We hiked the Mississippi Ridge Trail the second day.

We had to cross a small ravine to Picture Rock Cave. John is crossing the bridge:

Lots of ice sickles were hanging from the roof of the cave and lots had already fallen off.

This is my mountineering pose. Turns out there's stairs at the end of that rock.

Here are some p
ictures from the trails:

John and I at a look out. The Wisconsin River is in the background:

This is the flood stage marker at the Wyalusing State Park boat landing at the Mississippi River. The boat landing is often under water when the river floods. I don't think even John would be able to touch bottom when the river floods. ;)

And John got to walk on "Big Muddy" aka Mississippi River
