Around Prairie Du Chien

John and I traveled around South West Wisconsin with my parents while we were visiting at the end of November.
L: view of Old Prairie du Chien from the bridge over the Mississippi River R: Entry sign into PdC, where my parents live

PdC high school athletic fields. The high school is across the street from my parents house.

We don't have drive through businesses in the Netherlands; only drive through fast food places like McDonalds. So we had to take some pictures of the Drive thru pharmacy and the drive thru bank.

A couple pictures of downtown PdC

We rode my parents bikes around town. We came across a fish mailbox and a trailer park that reminded John of a Gypsy camp in the Netherlands.

People have put white stones up on a bluff over looking PdC that say PdC. My dad has a story about it in his blog.

An old hotel right on the Mississippi river. This is where the old Prairie du Chien downtown was before they moved it to dry ground. The land gets flooded pretty regularly when the river rises in the spring.
