Chicago 2009

Before and after John and I went to WI we were in Chicago, Illinois. My friends Joy, Kevin, and their little boy, Nate were generous and let us stay with them for a couple days.

Here are some shots of downtown Chicago.

Along the lakefront is a big public park. In the middle of the park is a giant shiny bean.

There's a large amphitheater that looks like it's been pealed away. The shiny ribbon in the foreground is a pedestrian walkway above a busy street.

John and I on the walkway across the road.

Joy and Kevin's Neighbor decorated his house for christmas. It was quite the display.

John and I at a Chicago institution: Superdawg. It's a drive in that specializes in hotdogs.

The bottom of the Watertower. It was one of the only surviving buildings after the great Chicago fire in the 19th century.

A street sign for the Magnificent Mile. It's the shopping district for downtown chicago.

The Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower). If you look really closely you can see small built out glass windows that people can go out in. We took the elevators up with Joy, Kevin, and Nate and ventured out over the city.

Joy and Kevin's little boy ( and soon to be big brother), Nate. He ventured out to the ledge.
